SIRIUS service - CMA CGM - ZIM Lines - Hamburg Sud and CSAV - announced rationalization of its line between the Mediterranean and East Coast of South America
The shipping lines members of the SIRIUS service linking the Mediterranean with the East Coast of South America announced that in view of present market conditions and in order to adapt it to actual demand.has decided to reconfigure its services with immediate effect.
This will be achieved by combining the present two-string operation into one weekly service operated with seven vessels between 3.500 and 4.200 TEU capacity each and will have the following rotation:
Valencia - Tarragona - Barcelona - Livorno - Vado Ligure - Malta - Dakar - Rio de Janeiro - Santos - Buenos Aires - Montevideo - Rio Grande - Paranagua - Santos - Rio de Janeiro - Pecem - Valencia.
"With this rationalization, the current capacity deployed in the SIRIUS service will be reduced by almost 40%", explains Jean-Yves Duval, Deputy Vice-President Latin America Lines from CMA CGM . "The service will nevertheless maintain a large port coverage and will keep serving Dakar, a particularly important call for CMA CGM."
