Maersk Line announced racionalization in their service from the East Coast of South America to the East Coast of North America. Schedule does not consider direct calls at Buenos Aires and Montevideo.


Maersk Line is adjusting the capacity deployed in the trade to/from the East Coast of South America and the East Coast of North America merging their two present services in one.

The Company is merging the existing NASA 1 and NASA 2 services into one new service, offering a different coverage of ports in this trade through one single product withdrawing some ports in Brazil and USA. Schedule does not consider direct calls at Buenos Aires and Montevideo

Key features of the new NASA service

The port rotation of the new service will be: Newark - Philadelphia – Charleston - Port Everglades – Santos - Rio Grande – Itajai – Santos – Salvador – Suape – Kingston - Newark - Schedule does not consider direct calls at Buenos Aires and Montevideo

The first departure will be the Nedlloyd Clarence, sailing from Newark on 25 October 2006 and schedule does not consider direct calls at Buenos Aires and Montevideo

The last voyages on the NASA 1 service will be:
Southbound: Maersk Nanhai calling first at Newark - ETD 19 October.
Northbound: Maersk Nanhai calling first at Montevideo - ETD 9 November.

The last voyages on the NASA 2 service will be:
Southbound: Maersk Nara calling first at Miami - ETD 25 September.
Northbound: Maersk Nanhai calling first at Paranagua - ETD 13 October.
