Aliança Navegação e Logística add m.v. "Aliança Mauá" in Santos to it's fleet.
"Aliança Mauá", with a capacity of 5,552 TEU, is to operate on the Europe-South American East Coast route.
The vessel, delivered as the "Monte Verde" in late August 2005 by Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering (DSME), is to operate on the Europe-South American East Coast route. Like the "Monte" class ships, Aliança Mauá has an important capacity for the transport of refrigerated cargo in containers and will transport chiefly meat, fruit and juice.
"The deployment of such an exceptional ship on our most traditional route (Europe) crowns the company's growth of the past few years," said Aliança's director Julian Thomas. Currently, the company operates a fleet of 25 container ships and eight bulk carriers. Of these, 13 fly the Brazilian flag, five are fully owned, seven "bare boats" (with Aliança crew) and one chartered.
