CMA CGM announces the completion of the acquisition of the French shipping group Delmas.

CMA CGM completes the acquisition of DELMAS, previously 100% held by the Bolloré Group. In this way the company reinforces its global offer, establishing a strong presence in Africa.

Through this transaction, CMA CGM has acquired the Delmas, Otal, Setramar brands, a 50% share in SudCargos, and Delmas' vessels, containers and headquarters in Le Havre.

In West Africa, CMA CGM will become Bolloré Group's partner for inland logistics and for the network of agencies.

"Delmas is a recognized specialist in Africa and brings CMA CGM, in addition to its 49 vessels and 140.000 containers, its strong experience and excellent reputation in transportation to and from West Africa." said Rodolphe Saadé, Chief Executive Vice President CMA CGM.

CMA CGM, a global carrier, seeks to build on the complementarities of both companies' routes to develop its network of services and its volume in Africa, notably from Asia, the Americas, and the Indian subcontinent where CMA CGM has a strong presence.

Alain Wils, Chief Executive Vice President CMA CGM, said: "Combining Delmas' specific focus on Africa with CMA CGM's expertise in both the East-West and North-South routes is logical. The geographical complementarities of this acquisition will allow us to offer a complete range of services to our mutual clients and to develop new regular routes as a result of our fleet and market synergies."

With this acquisition CMA CGM became the third mayor shipping group after Maersk and Mediterranean Shipping Co. The company will operate a total of 244 vessels with a slot capacity of 484.000 Teus.
