Safmarine adds new South American and Middle East links to Southern Africa.
Safmarine announced enhancements for its customers trading to and from Southern Africa. A new, monthly service from Itajai and Santos calling directly at Port Elizabeth will commence eastbound at the beginning of June to complement the existing, newly-configured Samba service.
In addition, a named day, weekly service commenced between Durban and Salalah to meet customer requirements following the revamping of the Indian Ocean Islands service, which will link the island ports of Port Reunion, Port Louis and Toamasina directly with Salalah.
Torsten Hartmann, Safmarine's Liner Director commented "Despite shortages in availability of tonnage and tight capacity stretching port and landside operations, we are continually looking to improve our service levels to our customers, such as offering a direct link to Port Elizabeth from South America."
