IICL announced the future release of IICL's pocket-sized Guide for Refrigerated Container Inspection and Repair, 3rd edition. This new edition specifically addresses Section 4, Inspection of Refrigerated Container Body. In an effort to standardize dry van and reefer inspection criteria, the IICL and its members have worked to revise the inspection of the reefer body. Each of the inspection tables noted in this section has been adjusted to reflect what we believe are more accurate values based on a detailed analysis of members' fleets.

"With steel reefer boxes now being the standard to which the majority of equipment is built today, it was only natural that the inspection criteria be more in line with the dry box fleets", stated Gary Danback, IICL Director of Technical Services.

The new manual will serve as the course textbook for the upcoming IICL Reefer Inspection Course in Valparaiso, Chile in September.
