COPA AIRLINES NAMED TO LIST OF 10 MOST ADMIRED COMPANIES IN THE REGION.
Copa Airlines has received recognition from two prestigious regional business publications, both for its management and operations, and for its workplace environment. The February edition of Estrategia & Negocios (Strategy and Business) magazine selected Copa Airlines as one of the 10 most admired companies in the region and the business magazine Summa, in its March edition, listed the airline as one of the 50 best companies to work for.
"We are committed to maintaining staff motivation, together with a continuous improvement process, which enables us to provide world-class service to our customers," said Alexander Gianareas, Senior Director Human Resources at Copa Airlines. "We are very proud of the recognition that we have achieved from two such prestigious magazines in the region, Summa and Estrategia & Negocios."
The selection of the 10 most admired businesses in the region is based on a survey that Estrategia & Negocios magazine conducts among business people from throughout the region, who base their selection on such qualities as "strategic vision, execution, risk-taking capacity, commitment and work."
Summa magazine creates its list of the 50 best businesses to work for based on interviews with employee recruitment firms throughout the region, with specialists and with readers.
According to Summa, "these companies demonstrate the effort of numerous business people who contribute to the development and the economic growth of the area, aware that human capital is one of their greatest assets."
Copa Airlines, which began service in 1947, today flies to 31 destinations in 20 countries in North, Central and South America and the Caribbean from its Hub of the Americas at Tocumen International Airport in Panama City, Panama. Copa offers flights to 120 other international destinations through codeshare agreements with Continental and Mexicana airlines. Copa and Continental also share a strategic alliance partnership that includes joint participation in Continental's award-winning frequent flyer program, OnePass.
