EUROSAL carriers and CSAV group merge Europe / West Coast South America loops.
From late April 2005 onwards, the EUROSAL consortium will integrate CSAV's existing Andes Express Service into the jointly operated Eurosal Service.
This will allow Hamburg Süd, CMA CGM, CSAV, Hapag Lloyd and P&O Nedlloyd to offer a two slings service to their customers in the service between Europe
and South America West Coast. The five partners will operate 15 container ships in the restructured liner service.
The first sling of the weekly fixed-day service, operating between Northern Europe and the growing Chilean market, will see the deployment of eight vessels, each with a capacity of 2,500 TEU including 260 reefer container plugs. Customers will benefit from better transit times between Valparaiso and Rotterdam.
In the second sling, linking the key markets of Peru and Ecuador and likewise operated on a weekly fixed-day basis, the partners will be providing seven vessels, each with a capacity of 1,700 TEU including 200 reefer container plugs. The transit time is also shorter than the existing service.
The new joint service has the following port rotations:
Sling 1: Rotterdam - Tilbury - Hamburg - Antwerp - Kingston - Cartagena - Manzanillo - Buenaventura - Valparaiso - Buenaventura - Manzanillo - Cartagena - Kingston - Rotterdam.
Sling 2: Rotterdam - Hamburg - Antwerp - Le Havre - Kingston - Cartagena - Manzanillo - Guayaquil - Callao - Paita - Guayaquil - Manzanillo - Kingston - Rotterdam.
