Malaysia Airlines Cargo (MASkargo) launched three new initiatives, as part of its ongoing global e-commerce programme.
The three e-business initiatives, officially launched by Transport Minister, Datuk Seri Chan Kong Choy , are :
- The enhanced MASkargo website
- The e-Sales facility and
- The Electronic Billing, Payment system.
Malaysia Airlines Senior General Manager (Cargo), Datuk J.J. Ong, said MASkargo is committed to embark on the adoption of a global e-commerce programme, as the main thrust of its strategic initiative to enhance the level of its service offerings to customers worldwide.
MASkargo offers online booking, e-airwaybills, e-schedule and e-tracking. With the launch of the latest initiatives, MASkargo is now able to provide a complete online airfreight solution for the automation of value chain processes with its business partners.
- MASkargo Enhanced Website - www.maskargo.com
MASkargo introduced cargo tracking facilities via its own website, www.maskargo.com in 2002. Two years later the website was enhanced with new features and content, rather than just a 'web-tracking' page.
Besides the abundance of cargo information, which customers can access directly, clients are also able to do online shipment tracking and schedule checking, which is the most attractive section of the web site. A facelift was introduced on 15 September 2004, which enhanced further the
attractiveness of the MASkargo website as it now has improved navigation and access to various content pages.
- MASkargo E-Sales
Introduced a web-based facility called e-Sales, which will enable MASkargo to market innovative products proactively via e-mails and SMS, to targeted customers globally on a 24-hour basis.
- Electronic Billing, Payment system
The Electronic Biling Presentment and Payment system or EBPP, supports seamless inter-bank fund transfer using Bank Negara's Financial Processing Exchange or FPX, the national internet-based payment gateway, which facilitate online payments for e-commerce transactions on a secure and multi-bank platform.
Freight forwarders using the online web-based EBPP system can now retrieve and print invoices received from MASkargo, reconcile invoices against air waybill records, dispute and/or make claims, monitor on statues, view summary of bills and carry out payment preparation / authorization and payment settlement on cargo bills.
MASkargo, is the air cargo division of Malaysia Airlines. For additional information in Argentina:
