Maersk Sealand announced new US East Coast - South America East Coast Service. The new service will not perform direct call at Buenos Aires port; destination which will be offered via transhipment.
The Danish operator Maersk Sealand will abandon their cooperation in the Joint Service to the US Coast with Hamburg Süd group.
Continuing with the tendency of other maritime liner operators in the last months, the new service will not perform direct calls at Buenos Aires port; destination which will be offered same as Asunción del Paraguay via transhipment with barge and feeder.
Maersk Sealand announced the implementation of it's new direct service to and from the East Coast of North America with Brazil and Uruguay. This new fixed day, weekly service will commence the first week of March 2005, and will offer a direct service from Montevideo, Uruguay to the US East Coast.
The Northbound service will call in this order Montevideo in Uruguay, Rio Grande, Itajai, Santos, Sepetiba, Salvador and Pecem in Brazil, Port Elizabeth (NJ), Philadelphia (PA), Norfolk (VA), Charleston (SC) and Miami (FL) in the USA.
The Southbound service will call in this order Port Elizabeth (NJ), Philadelphia (PA), Norfolk (VA), Charleston (SC) and Miami (FL) in the USA, Puerto Cabello in Venezuela, Santos in Brazil, Montevideo in Uruguay, Rio Grande, Itajai, Santos, Sepetiba, Salvador and Pecem in Brazil.
