With effect from 1 January 2005, Hamburg Süd and Aliança will be increasing the rates in the southbound Europe - South America East Coast service by Euro 200 per TEU.

According the Company, this move is essential to take account of the continuing rise in charter rates, global bottlenecks in container equipment and the increased cost of container newbuildings, adding this measure ensures that the customers of the Hamburg Süd Group will continue to receive the high level of service with which they are familiar.

The rate adjustment southbound will become effective with the following vessels/voyages:
