FedEx Express abre nuevo Centro de distrOpens New Gateway Hub in Miami to Facilitate Global Trade - New Facility Serves South Florida, Latin America and the Caribbean.
FedEx Express, announced the opening of its newest facility - the Miami Gateway Hub. Located at 6100 N.W. 36th St., the new facility will not only serve the growing South Florida market but will also significantly enhance the company's connectivity to Latin America and the Caribbean.
"FedEx will do what it takes to provide our customers with convenient and reliable access to the global economy," said David J. Bronczek, president and chief executive officer of FedEx Express. "The Miami Gateway Hub will be a critical part of the FedEx global network of services and solutions."
The FedEx Gateway Hub will sort up to 6,000 packages per hour or 40,000 packages a day. The facility, with approximately 145,000 square feet of warehouse and office space, occupies 23 acres of land at the Miami International Airport. The hub will also include refrigerated storage space for agricultural products, such as produce and flowers, and a 1,000-square-foot cooler system.
The facility will also house a bonded warehouse with onsite customs clearance agents to quickly and efficiently process Miami imports. According to the Beacon Council, 54 percent of all U.S. trade with Central America flows through Miami, 40 percent of the Caribbean trade and 34 percent of its trade with South America.
