AIR CANADA boosts Buenos Aires - Santiago service to four weekly flights and inaugurates Non-Stop Flights to Bogota and Caracas.
Air Canada inaugurates three times weekly non-stop service between Toronto,Canada and Bogota,Colombia and continues its expansion of services to Latin America with the introduction of three times weekly non-stop flights from Toronto to Caracas, Venezuela. Air Canada thus becomes the only airline offering scheduled, non- stop service between Canada and these South American countries.
Since December 2003, Air Canada has inaugurated new routes to Chile, Argentina, Costa Rica and Cuba, and in response to strong customer demand, has recently increased its service to Santiago and Buenos Aires to four flights from three per week. On November 1, 2004, Air Canada will pursue the expansion of its network to Latin America with the introduction of three times weekly non-stop flights to Lima, Peru.
"We are thrilled to now serve Venezuela and Colombia, and soon Peru, with more non-stop air service linking Canada and South America than ever before," said Yves Dufresne, Vice President. " Our recently launched routes to Chile, Argentina and Costa Rica, in addition to our popular flights to Brazil, are performing very well, leading us to increase our schedule to Santiago and Buenos Aires, and pursue further strategic growth opportunities in Latin American markets."
Air Canada's flights to Bogota depart Toronto on Wednesday, Friday and Sunday, and depart Bogota on Thursday, Saturday and Monday. The carrier's flights to Caracas depart Toronto on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday, and depart Caracas on Wednesday, Friday and Sunday. The new Bogota and Caracas services will be operated using 120-seat Airbus A319 aircraft offering the carrier's recently re-designed North American Executive Class service. With southbound flight times of six and 5.5 hours, respectively, travellers will save as much as two hours and 45 minutes off alternate routings requiring stopovers.
Air Canada's new service to Lima will begin November 1, 2004 with flights departing Toronto on Monday, Wednesday and Friday, and departing Lima on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday. Flights to Lima will be operated using 212- seat Boeing 767-300 aircraft featuring Air Canada's acclaimed international premium service, Executive First. With a flight time of eight hours, travellers will save as much as two hours and 40 minutes off alternate routings.
In addition to Caracas, Bogota, Air Canada serves 31 other destinations in the Caribbean and Latin America including: Antigua, Aruba, Barbados, Grenada, Grand Cayman, Guadeloupe, Haiti, Kingston, Montego Bay, Nassau, Puerto Plata, San Juan, St-Lucia, Trinidad, Turks & Caicos, Havana, Cayo Coco, Cayo Largo, Holguin, La Romana, Punta Cana, Varadero, Cancun, Cozumel, Ixtapa, Mexico City, Puerto Vallarta, San Jose, Sao Paulo, Santiago and Buenos Aires.
