The Hamburg Süd Group is presenting itself on the Internet with a completely reworked design and under the new domain name www.hamburgsud.com. With the relaunch, the shipping group is providing customers, staff, journalists and other interested parties with an optimal array of information and services.
Modern, user-friendly navigation takes account of the growing requirements of e-business to an increased extent.

The new-look website is divided into a total of six subject areas - "Company", "Business Areas", "E-Business", "Public Relations", "Job & Career" and "Offices" - as well as the function "My Hamburg Süd".

As well as greatly expanded basic information on the company and its business areas, the sections "E-Business" and "My Hamburg Süd", above all, rank among the highlights. "E-Business" presents not only an overview of service profiles and the fleet deployed but also, under "Booking", provides the possibility of transacting bookings online. In the further-developed schedule section, in addition to port-to-port information, there are also possible connections available between more than 35,000 locations. And with the aid of "Track & Trace", the current position of a container can be pinpointed by entering a container, B/L or booking number.

Under "My Hamburg Süd", a platform for registered customers, there is a further, specified "Track & Trace" function. Going beyond the scope of the "public website", it allows authorized users to view their entire own container management - from availability and sailing time, route and schedule to discharge of the cargo.

The spectrum of services provided by www.hamburgsud.com is rounded off with the "Offices" section, which contains contact details covering over 200 offices around the globe. Additionally, the shipping group will be adding the feature "Shipping Instructions" to its site in the second half of the year. This will enable details of Bills of Lading to be sent to Hamburg Süd direct via the Internet.

Following the expansion of the range of information and services, all information on the Hamburg Süd site is now, for the first time, available in two languages - English and German. This also applies to the Hamburg Süd Group's Aliança line, which has undertaken a relaunch in a parallel move and offers its information in Portuguese and English at www.alianca.com.br
