Maersk Sealand announced new call at Sepetiba, Brazil in two of their different services.
Maersk Sealand announced the addition of Sepetiba, Brazil to its South America service portfolio. Situated 85 kilometres (53 miles) south of Rio de Janeiro, Sepetiba Tecon S.A. container terminal offers customers a gateway to south-eastern Brazil by circumventing congestion at terminals in Rio de Janeiro.
The southbound service to Sepetiba on Rumba service began 1 May 2004. Northbound service will be available on Tango service commencing 23 May 2004.
Both the Rumba and Tango services run between the East Coast of North América and the east Coast of South América. Rumba Service make calls at Brazilian ports of Suape- Salvador - Sepetiba - Santos - Paranagua and Sao Francisco do Sul, this string does not call River Plate ports.
Tango Service make calls at Brazilian ports of Pecem, Suape - Sepetiba - Santos - Rio Grande and Buenos Aires.
