NYK Inaugurates Logistics Rebranding and launched a new global website – The group established a logistics subsidiary - NYK Logistics do Brasil

The new firm plans to set up three distribution centers in Brazil by the end of 2004, starting with a warehousing facility, scheduled for opening in suburban Sao Paulo in April 2004.

NYK has mapped out the "Logistics Strategy Plan" aimed at bolstering and expanding its logistics division. One of the priority targets of this plan is to cultivate new markets in South America, Eastern Europe and other parts of the world.

Recently, NYK has received an outsourcing order for logistics from Yamaha Motor do Brasil, a Brazilian subsidiary of Yamaha Motor Co., Ltd. Therefore, NYK has decided to take this occasion to set up its own logistics subsidiary in that country. The new firm is NYK's first logistics hub to be established in the South American region and will operate under the control of NYK Logistics (Americas), Inc.

The New Company will be named NYK BRASIL Logistica e Transporte Ltda. (to be commonly known as NYK Logistics do Brasil) and will be located at NYK Line do Brasil Ltda. in Sao Paulo, Brazil.

Effective January 1, 2004, Nippon Yusen Kaisha (NYK Line) uniformly rebranded all its logistics subsidiaries "NYK Logistics." This shared designation acknowledges the impact of NYK Logistics within the global market and NYK's dedication to its customers worldwide. Two European companies, New Wave Logistics and UCI Logistics, were rebranded "NYK Logistics." same as five business units in the Americas are operating as divisions of NYK Logistics (Americas) Inc.

NYK's Asian firms were renamed NYK Logistics (Thailand) and NYK Logistics (Taiwan) in 2003, along with its companies in Oceania, NYK Logistics (Australia) and NYK Logistics (New Zealand). In similar fashion, New Wave Logistics (Hong Kong) and New Wave Logistics (Philippines) were renamed NYK Logistics (Hong Kong) and NYK Logistics (Philippines) respectively, effective January 1, 2004.

In coordination with this rebranding initiative, NYK has launched a new global website at www.nyklogistics.com
