AMERICAN AIRLINES EXPANDS THE AVAILABILITY OF ITS EXPRESS FREIGHT PRODUCTS ON GLOBAL FREIGHT EXCHANGE (GF-X) American's Express Cargo products now available for electronic bookings.
The American Airlines Cargo Division announced the availability of its complete line of freight products for electronic bookings on Global Freight Exchange (GF-X). GF-X is the premier reservations system for the airfreight industry, processing more than 600,000 airfreight transactions for its membership last year. Now, electronic bookings for all of American's freight products, including ExpeditefsSM, ConfirmedfsSM and Priority Parcel ServiceSM, can be made via the online exchange.
The addition of American's popular express products allows GF-X members to book freight with additional precision by specifying higher boarding priority, quicker connections and a money-back guarantee that their freight will be flown as booked.
"GF-X members have been asking for access to all our freight products via GF-X, and we are pleased to make our complete product line available for electronic bookings," said Dave Brooks, president of American Airlines Cargo. "Online booking increases productivity for our customers, especially when combined with the tracking information available via AACargo.com."
Since its introduction last year, the Expeditefs product has become popular with customers needing precise shipping solutions. The product provides higher boarding priority in markets where capacity is tight, and also provides quick tail-to-tail connections that cut transit time - up to a day on some international flights. GF-X bookings of Expeditefs and Confirmedfs can be made from points of origin throughout American's worldwide cargo network.
Global Freight Exchange (GF-X) is the premier reservations system for the airfreight industry. GF-X system current clients include the world's largest airlines and freight forwarders. GF-X allows carrier and forwarder users to free up time from routine tasks and focus more on the individual needs of customers. GF-X maintains information such as schedules, capacity and rates and interfaces with carrier systems to complete transactions.
