Lufthansa Cargo rates more demand-driven as from October
Lufthansa Cargo, the logistics services provider in the Lufthansa Aviation Group, is adjusting prices on a differentiated basis and tying rates more closely to demand on 1 October 2003. That means in effect that shipment rates on peak-demand routes will be raised higher than in regions where traffic levels are comparably weak. In global terms, the rates hike will average four per cent.
Additionally, Lufthansa Cargo will continue to offer customers capacity purchase agreements tailored to their specific requirements, which can be concluded with or without capacity return rights. The rates will depend on the demand situation on individual routes and will remain constant throughout the duration of an agreement.
These long-term agreements guarantee customers the availability of capacity for their shipments in the long term, especially on the busiest of routes. They also give customers a solid base for future planning, which is so important in the cyclical air cargo business.
