At an award ceremony in London on 11th April 2003, MSC was named Shipping Line of the year for 2002 by specialized shipping publication Lloyd's Loading List.

Commenting on this, Mr. Gianluigi Aponte, MSC President, stated "This is the third time that we have received this prestigious award in the last 6 years and a tremendous achievement and a great tribute to our company for our customers to have voted for us in such overwhelming numbers. I am very proud that we have won this award as this is a recognition of everyone's hard work and high degree of professionalism."

Mr. Aponte added that this award reflected the dedication and supreme efforts of all MSC staff during this last year.

MSC received similar awards from Lloyds Loading List in 2000 and 1996 and were also named Shipping Line of the Year by Containerisation International in 1999. MSC has achieved during last years a tremendous grow which positioned the company today as number two in the ranking of the main shipping lines in the world dedicated to liner services for container transport.
