CaroTrans International Announces Weekly Direct Service from Los Angeles to Chile.
CaroTrans International, Inc., has announced the addition of a direct service for FCL and LCL cargo from Los Angeles to San Antonio, Chile. On-carriage is offered to: Santiago, Arica, Iquique, Punta Arenas and Antofagasta.
Cargo will sail over the Port of Los Angeles each Saturday with Wednesday (Noon) being cut-off for cargo arrival and Tuesday (Noon) cut-off for hazardous cargo in Los Angeles. Cargo cut-off in San Francisco is Tuesday, while Seattle/Portland is Monday and Vancouver is the previous Thursday.
Transit time from Los Angeles to San Antonio is 18 days. The first sailing in this new service was on April 12.

CaroTrans offers a software package called 'CaroTrak,' a customized web-accessed program. The latest enhancement is the introduction of an online cargo tracking capability. Shippers and receivers can now use booking or reference numbers to track cargo worldwide in 24/7 real time. Other new features allow customers to use 'CaroTrak' to view, print and e-mail booking confirmation, dock receipts and bills of lading, as well as locate vessel information.
CaroTrans International is a neutral non-vessel operating common carrier (NVOCC) providing less-than-container load and full-container load import and export services between the United States and more than 140 countries.
It operates sales offices from 11 major U.S. cities and has 26 receiving stations strategically positioned throughout North America. Last year marked the 22nd anniversary of CaroTrans' NVOCC services.
