Effective January 6, 2003, , in line with industry practice, FedEx Express will apply dimensional weight pricing to all international shipments in customer packaging.

Currently, FedEx Express applies dimensional weight pricing only to international shipments in customer packaging greater than 28.3 cubic centimeters (1 cubic foot). This change will not affect shipments between
Puerto Rico and U.S.

Dimensional weight for international shipments, excluding shipments between Puerto Rico and U.S., is calculated by multiplying the length by width by height of each package in centimeters and dividing by 6,000 (for dimensions in inches divide by 166.) If the dimensional weight exceeds the actual weight, charges will be assessed based on the dimensional weight.
