OIA Global Logistics, a leading freight forwarder and logistics provider, has completed the acquisition of PSD International, Inc., an international freight forwarder based in Los Angeles, and Westrans, a Hong Kong-based forwarder.

The announcement of the just concluded acquisition was made by John M. Dauernheim, Chief Operating Officer at OIA, who stated, "this acquisition represents a significant advance in OIA's strategic plan to increase its international presence. The combined companies, which will operate under the name of OIA Global Logistics, will expand significantly and enhance the global service capabilities now offered to our customers."

Mr. Dauernheim stressed the experience, skill and dedication of the PSD/Westrans logistics sales, marketing and operational staffs, saying, "we are very pleased to incorporate these professionals into the OIA family. Their past record of growth, while serving their customers, has been excellent."

The OIA COO noted that in addition to the forwarder's current locations, the acquisition of PSD and Westrans will add company owned and operated offices domestically in Chicago and in key cities in Asia including Hong Kong, Manila, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Singapore, Dhaka and Colombo. Mr. Dauernheim emphasized the new offices "will provide a full range of transportation, logistics and supply chain services including air import and export, ocean import and export, customs brokerage, warehousing and distribution. These services will be augmented by state of the art information and management systems."
