TNT Logistics Brazil in partnership with TAM

TNT Logistics has announced a partnership with TAM, a leader in Brazilian air transport and cargo distribution, to provide an extended range of logistics services to manufacturers using production sites in Brazil. Now, in addition to warehousing and road transport, TNT will be able to offer its customers the speed of TAM's air transportation and cargo distribution - a unique service in the Brazilian market.

"We are uniting the best in logistics services with the best in Brazilian air cargo transport to create a highly competitive proposition in the domestic market," says Gianfranco Sgro, Managing Director, TNT Logistics Brazil. "The partnership will enhance the range of services we offer for receiving, storing and delivering parts to automotive dealers in addition to giving TNT an edge to enter other distribution fields."

According to the agreement, TAM will give priority transportation and special conditions to TNT, which in turn will pass these advantages on to its clients through an attractive set of competitive prices and services. "Without any doubt, the partnership should immediately benefit our customers in the automotive field, specifically in the spare parts sector. In addition to TNT's worldwide expertise in logistics, they will be able to count on TAM 's quick air distribution," evaluates Sgro.

The partnership means that TNT can deliver to points all over the national territory within 12 hours of receiving the order. "To ensure this level of service TNT and TAM have been working closely together for over two months, running exhaustive tests to perfectly integrate the operational and IT resources of the two companies," reveals the TNT Logistics Managing Director.

TNT Logistics Brazil is a part of TNT Post Group, one of the three largest logistics groups in the world and world leader in automotive logistics. "One of our objectives this year is to expand our service to other industry sectors such as electronics," remarks Sgro. "The customer benefits of this new agreement will set us apart from the competition."

According to Miguel Petribu, TAM Burden Director, "We are very satisfied and confident that this agreement for air transportation and distribution will add value to TAM, TNT and our customers who take advantage of this modern and innovative logistics system."
