Clive Smith Associates Ltd., has designed a new telescopic height adjustable Flat Rack container design enable very tall cargo to be carried, stacked and toplifted by spreader. It's corner post can be extended to 4.115 meter - 13' 6'' , which means 5 feet higher than normal flat rack containers

This flatrack operates as a conventional 40' Type but within the corner posts there is a high strength telescopic post enabling very tall cargo to be carried, stacked and toplifted by spreader. Full strength is maintained at the maximum height, achieved in five 12" steps.

This patented product includes manual hydraulic lifting of the end walls so that the different height setting can be made manually. When folded the end walls fold flush with the floor for use as a platform flat.

Standard containers with cargo height over 8' 6'' on container vessel must be stowed on specific stowage position on-board ships and handled with special gears for load and discharge operations.

Because of this stowage limitations and handling complications, to handle over-height cargo it is more expensive than standard containers.

With the telescopic height adjustable Flat Rack container, handling problems are eliminated and costs reduced as same does not require neither special lifting gear nor it's stowage is restricted to specific positions on board.

Shippers can negotiate over-height cargoes freight better conditions as over-height cargoes on the telescopic height adjustable Flat Rack is to be handled but like normal standard container not like flat rack container.
