Korean Air Joins Air France and Delta Air Lines in Cargo Joint Venture.
Korean Air joins Air France and Delta Air Lines as a founding member of a cargo joint venture, to be launched later this year. The three carriers also are founding members of the SkyTeam Cargo alliance with Aeroméxico and CSA Czech Airlines. This new venture will offer customers the benefits of a combined sales force, centralized reservation and service center, a comprehensive route network and a common product line. The joint venture will be based in Atlanta with regional offices in Atlanta, New York, Chicago and Los Angeles, and will be managed and staffed by experienced cargo employees of all three carriers.
The company will be equally owned by Air France, Delta Air Lines and Korean Air, and governed by a joint Board of Directors.
It is expected that the combined freighter capabilities of Korean Air and Air France, along with the lower deck lift provided by Delta Air Lines, give this cargo joint venture a wide range of strategic options as well as marketing abilities.
